Responsible Betting
Betting should be fun, not stressful. Learn how to stay in control, recognise warning signs, and get help when you need it.
Betting involves risk. Never bet more than you can afford to lose. If you think you may have a gambling problem, please seek help immediately using the resources listed below. You must be 18+ to use HapiPredict.
Our Commitment
At HapiPredict, we provide predictions and analysis to help inform your betting decisions — but we never promise guaranteed wins. Betting is entertainment, not a reliable income source. We take our responsibility to our users seriously.
Tips for Responsible Betting
Practical steps to keep betting enjoyable and under control.
Set a Budget
Decide how much you can afford to lose each week or month before you start. Treat it like an entertainment expense — never use rent, bill, or savings money.
Set Time Limits
Limit how long you spend researching and placing bets. Excessive time on betting sites is a warning sign. Schedule breaks and enjoy other hobbies.
Stay Rational
Don't chase losses — it rarely works and often makes things worse. If you're on a losing streak, step back. Emotions lead to impulsive, poorly considered bets.
Track Everything
Keep a record of every bet you place — stakes, outcomes, and net P&L. Honest tracking reveals whether you're truly in control or losing more than you realise.
Never Borrow to Bet
If you're considering borrowing money to place a bet, stop. This is a major red flag. Betting should only ever use money you have set aside and can afford to lose.
Talk to Someone
If betting is causing you stress, anxiety, or financial strain, talk to someone you trust — a friend, family member, or a professional. You don't have to deal with it alone.
Separate Betting from Investing
Betting is not an investment strategy. No prediction service can guarantee profits. Treat it as entertainment, not income.
Use Bookmaker Tools
Most licensed bookmakers offer deposit limits, loss limits, session timers, and self-exclusion. Use them. They exist to protect you.
Deposit Limits & Self-Exclusion
Most licensed bookmakers offer built-in tools to help you manage your gambling. We strongly encourage you to use them. These tools include:
Deposit Limits
Set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit caps on your bookmaker account. Once you hit the limit, you physically can't deposit more until the next period.
Loss Limits
Similar to deposit limits, but caps the total amount you can lose. Helps prevent devastating losing streaks from spiralling out of control.
Session Time Limits
Set a timer so you get alerted (or logged out) after a certain time. Great for preventing "just one more bet" behaviour.
Self-Exclusion
Voluntarily block yourself from a bookmaker for a set period (24 hours to 5+ years). During this time, you cannot access your account or place bets.
Check your bookmaker's "Responsible Gambling" or "Account Settings" section to find these tools.
Self-Assessment Quiz
Answer honestly — this quiz is private and not stored or shared. It's meant to help you reflect on your habits.
